Mass-ive.

To refresh our memory, the site is located in Peck Slip, Manhattan.

I figured it was time to begin some 3D modeling.
Therefore, I decided to create a quick rough model to show it's volume.
Ideally, this modeling was produced shortly after my previous sketches.

Comments to note I received on this were:

The structures height is too generous, push higher.
The spaces can become rectilinear as suggested in the massing.
The mobius-strip or the form of "infinitude" can be shown in its structure.
The center core and circulation can be goverened by the vertical planes.
Subsequently, certain spaces can rotate as more levels are added vertically.
.
.
Next step. Work out the spaces and come up with some plans.
Also work out a general 3D composition to capture the "infinity" structure.

Sketch extravaganza!

Initial Sketches
After having completed some conceptual models, it was time to sketch some ideas.
Trying to apply an organic form into my design I began viewing them in section and plan views.

Secondary Sketches
In my notebook, I sketched some quick ideas of some spaces that I can see integrated with the design thus far. Though major development is still needed, I can see these spaces actually come to life and functioning.

Other Sketches
Sketches such as massing itself, so far I was thinking of one single plane or two planes cutting into the building to divide and create different spaces. I think the next step will be to make 3D massing model. Next post.
