The Sharpie and I.

Some conceptual sketches of my design.
Entry, massing, circulation
are just some elements
running through my mind during these sketches...

  1. Many artists, most importantly Pollock, struggled with the concept you originally identified (Infinity). Pollocks parti was to use the canvas as a microcosmic boundary and identified the canvas' boundaries as endless. Looking at his canvas meant you were looking into the world of the minute.

Unlike Pollock, your parti is that of a simple geometric shape, but a complex geometric equation. Having said that, the parti should be looked at not as a veneer or a facade, but as a negative circulation of the space or as the shape of the archetype. Your individual expression of that archetype will identify with you.

Each of us has a subjective association of a concept that may conflict with what you're seeing. Only through the objective can we all agree. It's your responsibility to express the objective, but through your artistic translation.
