Sketch extravaganza!

Initial Sketches
After having completed some conceptual models, it was time to sketch some ideas.
Trying to apply an organic form into my design I began viewing them in section and plan views.

Secondary Sketches
In my notebook, I sketched some quick ideas of some spaces that I can see integrated with the design thus far. Though major development is still needed, I can see these spaces actually come to life and functioning.

Other Sketches
Sketches such as massing itself, so far I was thinking of one single plane or two planes cutting into the building to divide and create different spaces. I think the next step will be to make 3D massing model. Next post.

  1. Diego,
I am pleased to see your sketches. I almost thought I may have overwhelmed you with my former comments.
The initial sketches, especially the first one with the bold horizontal plane (Maybe the ground level itself?) is the way to approach and end your building development. Because your existential thoughts have no beginning and end, they would best be expressed with an object similar to your original sketch. Although all of your other sketches depict an expression of a contemporary building, they lack what the initial sketch has: Infinity

Many architectural and engineering feats have been expressed within non-architectural massing, but your concept of infinity would be validated with the intangible qualities of the building.

Great stuff, now translate it into space (Maybe the arches are the structural element and the spaces are within. Maybe the mobius strip is the exo-skeleton?

  2. Finally something is posted!!! I am very intrigued with the sketches. It is starting to take form and there is a sense of scale. I think you should test your program with the plans and sections to see if this shape can support your program. Models, drawings and much more work....
